Emma C. Niemerg's Obituary
Emma C. Niemerg, 90, of Effingham, died at 10:12 a.m., Monday, May 16, 2011 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 19, 2011 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation was from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with a 6:30 p.m. C.C.W. rosary. Memorials may be made to Catholic Charities or the donor's choice.
Emma was born on November 1, 1920 in rural Dieterich, the daughter of Bernard H. and Helen (Goeckner) Niemerg. She was a cook at Trailways for many years. Emma was also a member of the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham and the St. Anthony Council of Catholic Women.
Emma is survived by one sister, Ruth A. Habing of Albuquerque, NM; two sisters-in-law, Martha Niemerg of Dieterich and Marie Niemerg of Effingham; 24 nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Albert, Andrew and Ray; one sister Lucille.
