Ellen F. Runde, 83, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

Private family services will be held with burial in St. Francis Cemetery in Teutopolis. Memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society.

Ellen was born April 10, 1937 in Springfield, the daughter of Alvin and Esther (Hill) Sharples. She married William C. "Bill" Runde on April 10, 1959 and he preceded her in death in 2017. Ellen was a member and former organist at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis.

Ellen is survived by her four sons, Paul (Julie) of Effingham, Bill (Silvia) of Teutopolis, Dan (Pam) of Ocean City, MD and Pete of Teutopolis; four daughters, Michelle of Teutopolis, Patty of Anchorage, AK, Carol of Pahrump, NV and Angie of Kirkwood, MO; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Paul and Richard Sharples.
