Eleanor M. "Ellen" Bell, 89 of Effingham, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2024 at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with a time of visitation from 10:00 am to the time of service. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday at Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Mt. Vernon.

Ellen was born September 21, 1935 in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of Erick L. and Olive (Hertzel) Arthur.

Ellen is survived by her children, Linda (Applegate) Hieleman of Nashville, TN, Edward (Gwen) Neal of Effingham, Sharon Neal Butler of Grayville, Steven Neal of Olney, and Michael Roberts of Troy; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her children, Dawn Applegate, Richard Applegate, Carol Applegate Stark, and Kevin Neal.
