Elizabeth Elaine Cameron, lovingly known as Beth, passed away on April 6, 2026, in Corona del Mar, California, at the age of 90.
Beth was born on February 23, 1936, in Effingham, Illinois to Frances (Althoff) Bauer and Frank Joseph Bauer. She grew up in Effingham and attended St. Anthony High School before continuing her education at Eastern Illinois University. On a blind date, Beth met her future husband, Leonard Wayne Cameron. The two married in December 1955. Leonard’s career led them to various cities over the years and in 1968 they moved their growing family to Tempe, Arizona. In 1999 they retired together in Surprise, Arizona. After Leonard’s passing in 2002, Beth remained in Surprise until relocating to California in 2024.
Beth had deep love of travel and adventure. She explored Europe during the years her husband worked as an international auditor and later visited while her daughter, Carol, and son-in-law, Bob, were stationed in Germany in the U.S. Air force. Her journeys also took her to Hawaii, snowshoeing at Royal Gorge, exploring Turkey, on memorable cruises along the Danube and in Alaska. She traveled to Mexico, where she witnessed whales in their calving lagoons. She delighted in a scenic railroad trip across Canada and especially treasured the many visits with her children and their families in Oregon, Washington, California and Arizona.

She will be remembered as a devout Catholic, a steadfast and loyal friend, and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her faith, kindness, and quiet strength left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
