Obituary

Eleanor F. Fuesting, 83, of Effingham passed away at 8:36 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21, 2010, at Evergreen Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Effingham.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Teutopolis. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Teutopolis. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the church. There will be a 4:30 p.m. CCW rosary and a 6:30 p.m. parish wake service Sunday evening at the church. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Bauer Funeral Home, Teutopolis, is assisting the family with arrangements.

She was born Sept. 5, 1927, in Sigel, the daughter of John and Christina (Will) Hoene. She married Gerald H. Fuesting on Sept. 27, 1950.

She was a homemaker and member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Teutopolis and the St. Francis Council of Catholic Women. Eleanor was devoted to her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. Her Catholic faith was very important to her. Eleanor's pasttimes consisted of baking, playing cards and crocheting.

Surviving are sons, Mike of Effingham, Timothy (Karen) of Teutopolis and David (Diana) of Effingham; daughter, Jane (Gary) Heuerman of Teutopolis; grandchildren, Travis, Troy, Tyler and Trent Heuerman, and Brian, Angie, Sara and Kristin Fuesting; great-grandchildren, Austin, Ethan and Ayden; brother, John (Ruth) Hoene of Effingham; and sister, Theresa (Clarence) Hartke of Dieterich.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Alan; three brothers, Ray, Alf and Norbert; and two sisters, Ann Bushur and Rose Koester.
