Obituary

Edith Evelyn Antrim Giesler, 96 of Altamont, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at HSHS St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Private family services will be held with burial in Arborcrest Memorial Park in Effingham. A public service to celebrate Edith's life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be given to Lutheran Care Center - Altamont or Faith Lutheran Church - Shumway and will be accepted by mail at Bauer Funeral Home, c/o Giesler Memorial, 1212 West Evergreen Avenue, Effingham, Illinois 62401.

Edith was born June 3, 1923 in Cerro Gordo, the daughter of Alonzo and Rosalie (Bennett) Antrim. She married Don Willis Giesler on May 31,1942 in Strasburg and he preceded her in death in 1995. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Shumway. Edith enjoyed time with family and friends as well as quilting, crocheting and embroidery.

Edith is survived by her son, Allan of Altamont; daughters, Susan (Jack) Tynan of Shelbyville, Linda (John) Baginski and Christine (Wendell) Alwardt both of Altamont; brothers, Charles (Kay) Antrim of Decatur and Lee Antrim of Effingham; sisters, Betty Toops of Neoga and Joann (Art) Lynch Longwell of Chatham; daughter-in-law, Sharon K. Giesler; grandchildren, Steven (Sandra) Giesler, Dianna (Tom) Furr, Debora (Brent) Fogleman, John (Patti) Tynan, Curtis Baginski, Alicia (Chris) Davero and Darla Baginski, Derrick (Chrisha), Justin (Danielle) and Tyler (Gretchen) Alwardt, Tammy (Eric) Ochs and Julie Ebeling; many great-grandchildren.

Edith was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Brenda K. Giesler; sons, Bruce E. and Dale G. Giesler; siblings, Raymond, Orville, James, William, Everett, Donald, Franklin and Virginia.
