Eddie Glenn Safford, 81, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2018 at his home in Effingham.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham, with visitation being held from 12:30 p.m. to time of service. Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to P.O. Box 321, Effingham, IL 62401.

Ed was born on January 2, 1937 in Brookston, Indiana, the son of Glenn and Ruth Safford. He was an honest, hardworking man who loved nothing more than spending time with his family and dog. Ed attended Purdue University. After attending Purdue, he worked various jobs around the country before returning to Indiana and taking a job with National Homes where he worked the majority of his adult life. Later he became co-owner of Custom Family Homes in Effingham, Illinois and retired in 2011.

Ed is survived by his loving wife, Dodi; son, Scott Safford; daughters, Nicole Safford Harman and Kara (Geoff) Levin; grandchildren, Stephanie (Dane) Dudley, Morgan Safford, Ella Harman, Mac Levin, Ryann Levin, and Cooper Levin. He was preceded in death by his parents.
