E. Radell Gillespie, 89, formerly of Effingham, passed away Friday, September 13, 2019.

Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with Pastor John Hollis, officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to time of service, Wednesday at the funeral home. Radell was born June 27, 1930, the daughter of Ralph and Cleo Prather. She married James H. Gillespie in 1948 and he preceded her in death in 1980. Radell spent most of her life working at several different jobs. She enjoyed music, line dancing and gardening.

Radell is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Camille) Randazzo, son, Kevin (Cindy) Gillespie and adopted granddaughter, Julie (Richard) Wilson. She is also survived by her siblings, James (Tanya) Prather, Ronald (Barb) Prather, Gary (Karen) Prather, Laverne Kruger (companion, Jerry), Betty (Dale) Whitney and Loretta Mecholsky; brother-in-law, John Lewis and sisters-in-law, Ruth Prather and Melba Gillespie; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Marsha; brothers, Kenny Dale and Dean Prather; sisters, Deloris Lewis and Linda Lou Prather; son-in-law, Dale Bergfeld.
