Douglas Scott Joseph "Doug" Koester, 55 of Beecher City, passed away Friday, December 17, 2021 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 27, 2021 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Effingham. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Monday at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham.

Doug was born May 10, 1966 in Effingham, the son of Ronald E. and Linda (Brown) Koester. He married Leslie M. Ard on April 16, 2011.

Doug is survived by his wife, Leslie of Beecher City; children, Andrew (Brittany) Koester of Beecher City, Shelby Wilson and Brandon Wilson, both of Effingham; granddaughter, Savanah Koester; brothers, Shane (Jessica) Koester of Effingham, Brent of Rawlins, WY, Brian of Augusta, GA, Lance (Christina) of Beecher City; sisters, Tina (Jesse) Mays of Altamont and Kim (Tim) Koester of Cowden; several nieces and nephews.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Steve and sister-in-law, Brenda.
