Doris Mae Vogt, 81 of Effingham, passed away at 7:50 a.m. Monday, August 15, 2016 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham.

UPDATE: A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 19, 2016 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in Seminary Cemetery, Pittsburg. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with a 6:45 p.m. service. Doris was born January 21, 1935 in Fayette County, the daughter of Melvin and Ruth (Mills) Thompson. She married Clem J. Vogt on August 23, 1991and he survives. Doris was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham. She worked for many years in a hospital, as well as in-home care, as a Certified Nurses Assistant.

Doris is survived by her husband, Clem of Effingham; four sons, Carl (Ranee) Rogers of Hillsboro, Rod (Sissy) Rogers of Brownstown, Mike Rogers and David Rogers, both of Colchester; step-son, Tom (Crystal) Vogt of Effingham; four step-daughters, Sue (Lynn) Marvin of Effingham, Joyce (Phil) Mathews of Effingham, Christie (Chad) Sexton of Clinton, IN and Amy Vogt of Effingham; brother, Darrell (Donna) Thompson of Brownstown; sister, Jan Moore of Vandalia; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, twelve step-grandchildren and five great step-grandchildren.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; step-grandson, Philip; five brothers and two sisters.
