Donna Ray (Norris) De Paola, 81, passed away Friday, October 22, 2021 at her home in Effingham.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with burial in Arborcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. (noon) to time of service, Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be given to the Effingham Animal Rescue Sanctuary (E.A.R.S.).

Donna was born May 17, 1940 in St. Louis, the daughter of Raymond and Beulah (Dycus) Norris. She married Thomas H. "Spike" De Paola in January of 1962 and he preceded her in death on October 21, 2000. Donna was retired from Electro-Motive G.M.

Donna is survived by her daughters, Kelly (Kyle) Kane of Mokena and Gina De Paola of Effingham; adopted daughters, Jeanne Sutton and Christina Herboth; siblings, Jim (Elaine) Norris of Willow Springs, Charlotte Norris, Mary (Dan) Hoffman, Debbie (Kevin) Grigg, Connie (Rick) Brockett, Ray Norris and Larry Norris, all of Effingham; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; husband; step-mother, Doris Norris and brother, Mike Norris.

Donna's family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Kowalski and his nurses, Nicole and Theresa and Dr. James Wade III of Effingham Oncology for their compassionate care.
