Donald J. "Duck" Nosbisch, 66, of Effingham died at 6:45 a.m. Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham.

Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Effingham. Burial will be at St. Anthony Cemetery with full graveside rites. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the church, with a 7 p.m. parish wake service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either St. Anthony Schools or the St. Anthony Booster Club. Bauer Funeral Home, Effingham, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mr. Nosbisch was born Dec. 21, 1943 in Effingham County, the son of Leo and Eleanor (Meyer) Nosbisch.

He married Judy E. (Webster) Gebben on June 2, 1979. She survives him.

He was employed at World Color Press for 30 years, retiring as head pressman. He was a lifetime member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Effingham Knights of Columbus Council #655 and Effingham American Legion Post #120.

Don graduated from St. Anthony High School in 1961. After graduation he served an enlistment in the U.S. Navy and attended Lake Land College, Mattoon, for two years. He was an avid sports fan of St. Anthony Schools and a very active member of the St. Anthony Booster Club, keeping score for both the high school and grade school basketball teams. He scrapbooked St. Anthony sporting events for over 50 years. Don was given the St. Anthony Booster Club Award in 1998 for all of his support and activities over the years.

Don is survived by his wife, Judy of Effingham; a daughter, Michelle (Chris) Tingley of Effingham; three grandchildren, whom he loved dearly, Davis, Emma and Curtis Tingley; a sister, Patty (Denny) Gagnon of Villa Park; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
