Donald J. "Donnie" Niebrugge, 70, passed away Monday, January 1, 2024 at his home in rural Effingham.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am Friday, January 5, 2024 at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Green Creek, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 11:00 am Friday at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. Memorial donations may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.

Donnie was born November 6, 1953 in Effingham, the son of Adolph and Genevieve (Probst) Niebrugge. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Teutopolis Knights of Columbus, and was a lifelong farmer.

He is survived by his brother, Roger (Jackie) Niebrugge of Teutopolis; sisters, Barbara Jane (Jack) Zerrusen of Effingham, Alice Swingler of Teutopolis, and Connie (Jerry) Thoele of Effingham; special friend, Martie Bushue; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David; brother-in-law, William Swingler; niece, Sue Borries.
