Donald A. Finney's Obituary
Donald A. Finney, 58, of Stewardson died at 9:44 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2011, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Free Methodist Church, Neoga. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Effingham, with military rites. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today, July 5, at Bauer Funeral Home, Effingham. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
Donald was born July 15, 1952, in Clinton, Ind., the son of Richard O. and Helen M. (Sharer) Finney. He married Dana L. Cook on Nov. 6, 1976.
Don was a retired truck driver and law enforcement officer. He served in the U.S. Air Force security police during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Teutopolis Disabled American Veterans chapter.
Donald is survived by his wife, Dana, of Stewardson; son, Kenneth Alan (Christina) of Charleston; daughters, Darby-Ann (Robbie) Hewkin of Stewardson and Tammy of Lake Forest; five grandchildren, Mandy, Alex, Vinnie, Cori and Ceres; great-granddaughter, Bella; five nephews; and seven nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
