Donald L. "Don" Hill, 86, died peacefully at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at his home in Effingham.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham with burial St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Tuesday morning at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Anthony Schools.

Don was born June 25, 1931 in Christopher, the son of Richard R. Hill Sr. and Anna R. Barauskaus. He married Dolores M. Endris on April 24, 1954 in Pana and she preceded him in death in 1998. Don was a member of the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and the Effingham Knights of Columbus Council #665. He was employed with CIPS for 40 years.

Don is survived by his three sons, Steve (Michael Donohue) Hill of San Diego, CA, Jim (Terri) Hill of Wildwood, MO, and Tom Hill of Avon, IN; seven grandchildren, Lauren (Justin) Lierz, Christopher (fiancé Krystal West) Hill, Jacob Hill, Alexander Hill, Audrey Hill, Colin Hill and Taylor Hill; special companion, Tammie Buchanan.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; wife and two brothers, Richard R. Hill Jr. and Robert G. Hill.
