Dolores J. "Dorrie" Niebrugge, 92 of Effingham, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 14, 2019 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday morning at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Dorrie was born October 11,1926 in Chicago, the daughter of Frank J. and Caroline (Dybas) Rock. She married Harold G. "Pete" Niebrugge on February 15, 1947 and he preceded her in death on November 14, 2001. Dorrie was a member of St. Anthony Church in Effingham, St. Anthony Hospital Auxiliary and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

Dorrie is survived by her sons, Bruce (Joyce) and Skip (Sandie Buehnerkemper), both of Effingham; daughter, Laura (Patrick) Tays of Effingham; sister, Alice Matts; brother-in-law, Richard L. Niebrugge of Effingham; grandchildren, Amy (Kevin) Meyer, Cory (Gwen), Justin (Kristy), Jerod Niebrugge, Alex (Laura) and Kasey Tays; eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Dorrie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Frank J. (Blanche) Rock; sister, Irene (Eddie) Calek and brother-in-law, Ed Matts.
