Denny was born Sept. 9, 1964, the son of Delbert and Evelyn (Cordes) Habing. He was a 1983 graduate of Effingham High School. Dennis was known by his friends as Denny. Everyone knew his laugh and free spirit because it could lighten up a room. Denny found happiness in all the simple things in life. He loved to spend his free time around the beauty of a pond or lake while fishing. Denny spent many hours in his truck driving the countryside enjoying the company of family and friends. He never had use of a map because of this. Denny was an avid animal lover, in particular his dogs and pet goose. Denny found joy in simple card games with those he loved the most. He spent many Sunday evenings at his parents with the whole family having cookouts and golf cart riding.
Denny had different careers through out his life, most recently he worked at Double D Signs. From his first job at David Recycling, Denny has always taken an interest in the recycling business. While many people in life search for happiness, Denny found his happiness. It wasn't just the little things in life he enjoyed it was the people he was with, that meant the most to him. He was a son, a brother, an uncle, a nephew, a cousin and a friend. Above all he was a loving father to his daughter, Michelle. His greatest thing he left in this world was his love which was felt by many and will be forgotten by none.
Denny leaves behind his daughter, Michelle of Effingham; his parents of Altamont; sisters, Vickie (Jim) Borries of Dieterich and Penny (Dennis) Deters of Teutopolis; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Allie and Elizabeth Habing, and Mike and Pauline Cordes.
