Delores "Dee" Kiefer, 69, passed away at 8:02 a.m. Friday, September 4, 2015 at her home in Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. Dee was born July 25, 1946 in Shelbyville, the daughter of Clarence and Lucinda (Stremming) Stone. She married John W. Kiefer on May 2, 1965 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham and he preceded her in death in 2010. Dee was a graduate of Sparks Business College and was employed for thirty years at World Color Press in Effingham. Most recently, Dee worked as a registration clerk at Prairie Heart Institute, St. Anthony Memorial Hospital. Dee was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham for many years.
Dee is survived by her sons, Chad (Pam) Kiefer of Shumway and Chet (Erica) Kiefer of Effingham; daughter, Chandra (Raymond) Niemerg of Dieterich; honorary son, Guilherme (Raquel) Silva of Sao Jose do Rio Predo, Brazil; grandchildren, Drake and Whitley McHugh, Kelsey, Chase and Kolin Kiefer; honorary grandson, Edwardo Silva; brothers, Jerry (Bev) Stone of Pana, Earl Stone (special friend, Cindy Lou Moser) of Lexington, KY, Larry (Mary) Stone of Montrose and Jack (Ginger) Stone of Washington; sisters, Fritzie (Larry) Nichols and Cindy (Bob) Morgan, both of Shelbyville .
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; brother, Ronald and sister, Leota.
