Darlene Mette, 76, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2020 at her home in Effingham.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. Memorial donations may be given to HSHS St. Anthony Hospice.

Darlene was born July 1, 1944 in Effingham, the daughter of R. H. and Myrna V. (Elliott) Alcoke. She was employed for many years at the Effingham Knights of Columbus Hall and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham.

Darlene is survived by her sons, Richard (Kay) Mette of Sigel and Steven Mette of Effingham; daughter, Cheryl (David) Cornwell of Altamont; brother, Larry (Marilyn) Alcoke of Galesburg; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Mary Lynn.
