Darin M. Buening, 40, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2020 at his home in Teutopolis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or the donor's choice.

Darin was born March 29, 1980 in Effingham, the son of Charles and Diane (Hartke) Buening. He graduated from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and received his master's degree from the University of Illinois. Darin most recently worked for Irwin Seating Company in Altamont.

Darin is survived by his parents; sister-in-law, Jennifer Buening as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Brian and Brad; grandparents, Walter and Eleanor Buening and Joe and Alice Hartke.
