Danny G. Wilson, 67, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017 at his home in Effingham, surrounded by his family.
Danny was born September 26, 1949 in Parkersburg, West Virginia to the late Gilbert and Kathleen (Williams) Wilson. He married Marian Meyer on March 24th, 1984.
Known to many as "Midway Dan", he spent many years providing his family, friends and the community a place to gather; whether it was to celebrate, to laugh, to cry, to let loose or just have a good time. Regardless of the situation, the Midway was always the place to be.
Dan loved his family and the Midway team and made sure that when you walked through the door, you felt like family too. Through the years of being a business owner, he gave jobs to those who needed them, when they were in a bind, he helped them without hesitation, he got to know them and cared about them deeply. He left this world better than he found it, because in the end, what matters most in life is who you've helped.
Dan enjoyed scratch off lottery tickets with the kids, keeping the house cleaned/organized, mowing the lawn (just right), Sunday's with good food and family, red wine, watching his Cubs win and the Price is Right.
After retiring, Dan dedicated his life to his family. He is survived by his wife, Marian,; sons, Jay and Zac Wilson; daughters, Loren (Chris) Dreas and Molly Wilson (fiancé, Joey Roberson); grandchildren, Zachary, Jordan, Tanner, Kennidy, Miles, Madyson, Maggie, Max and Daniel; brother, Buddy Wilson.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gary Wilson and sisters, Patricia Lyons and Cheryl Walker.
No services will be held per Danny's wishes.
