Clark Isley, 89, formerly of Island Grove, passed away Monday, April 20, 2015 at St. Anthony Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 23, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Island Grove with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to time of service, Thursday morning at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Isidore Parish, Dieterich or Immaculate Conception Church Building Fund, Columbia.
Clark was born on May 10, 1925 in rural Jasper County, son of the late Albert and Cleone (Clark) Isley. He married Loretta Pals on November 12, 1946 and she preceded him in death in 2013. Clark was a devoted member of St. Isidore Parish, Island Grove and of Immaculate Conception Church, Columbia. Clark and Loretta raised their family on their farm in rural Jasper County. As an avid pilot, he could often be seen gracing the evening skies in his Cessna. Clark enjoyed bowling, golfing and attended multiple morning coffee groups. He was a member of the Elks and a life-long member of the Knights of Columbus. Clark also served on various community and company boards.
Clark is survived by his daughter, Victoria (Wayne) Gallagher of Columbia; sons, Glen (Lynn) of Casey, Dennis (Carolyn) of Wheeler, Kevin (Karen) of Azle, TX, and Brett (Schuyler) of Littleton; sisters, Reba Thoele of Pleasanton, CA and Eloise (Don) Holsapple of Greenup; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
