Christopher Ray Shimboff II, 61, relocated to his heavenly home on Saturday, December 14, 2019 after passing away at his winter home in Port Isabel, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 23, 2019 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to time of service, Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the choice of the donor. Chris was born September 4, 1958 in Granite City, the son of Christopher Sr. and Mary (Burton) Shimboff. He married Cindy Bailey on September 5, 2000 and she survives.
Chris had a great love for the Lord and his life reflected that fact in all that he said and did. He had many hobbies but his favorite was leading people to the Lord. Chris was a great leader, pastor and teacher. He was also an avid Chicago Bears fan and looked forward to every game.
Chris is survived by his wife, Cindy; children, Chris III (Amanda), Anthony (Khristian), Tara (Jamey) Luna and Graham (Jessica) Glaspy; mother, Mary Shimboff; sisters, Theresa Shimboff, Lisa (David) Lugar and Valora (Bryan) Marschke; grandchildren, Christopher IV (Alexis) Shimboff, Theodore Shimboff, Anthian, Zephaniah and Jhemi Shimboff, Whitney (Alex) Phillips, Gracie and Sophia Luna; great-grandchildren, Luka and Marlow Phillips; many nieces and nephews also survive.
Chris was preceded in death by his father, Christopher Shimboff Sr. and brother, Phillip Shimboff.
