Christine C. Kortte, 96 of Effingham, passed away at 2:57 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2015 at The Glenwood in Effingham.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 30, 2015 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. A combined C.C.W. and C.D. of A. rosary will held at 4:00 p.m followed by visitation until 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony Schools.

Christine was born December 14, 1918 in Effingham, the daughter of Joseph and Christina (Nuxoll) Haarmann. She married Frank H. Kortte, Jr. on November 11, 1941 and he preceded her in death in 2012. Christine was a seamstress for the Illinois Glove Factory for over 40 years. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham, the St. Anthony Council of Catholic Women and the Effingham Chapter of Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

Christine is survived by her four children, Thomas (Barb) of Leesburg, FL, Connie (John) Ramsey of Belleville, MI, Linda (Ed) Beyers of Neoga, Marsha (Duane) Reynolds of Watson; daughter-in-law, Carol Kortte of Decatur; sister, Dorothy Holkenbrink of Effingham; eleven grandchildren, Kathy (Rhett) Kilmer, Todd Kortte, Angela (Mike) Shock, Bryan Kortte, Wendy (Aziz) Panjwani, Brent Beyers, Justin (Sara) Beyers, Brooke (Josh) Rennels, Charlene (Brian) Langley, John Paul (Shawna) Ramsey and Amber (Jason) Fielitz; nineteen great-grandchildren also survive.

Christine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; son, James; grandson, Mickey Reynolds; three brothers, Louis, Joseph and Leo Haarmann; sisters, Sr. Maximina "Anna" Haarmann and Celeste Kortte.
