Cheryl E. Mix, 72 of Effingham, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2024 at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 2, 2024, at Bailey Cemetery in rural Jasper County.

Cheryl was born February 26, 1952 in Effingham, the daughter of Elmer King and Phyllis (Shamhart) Hook. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Effingham, an avid reader, and enjoyed crafting.

Cheryl is survived by her son, Robert "Chuck" and daughter-in-law, Michelle Mix of Lees Summit, MO; daughter, Danielle King of Waxahachie, TX; granddaughter, Harper Rose Mix; stepmother, Susie King; and half-siblings, Betsy Miller, Marilyn Hoke, Mike King, Matt King, and John King.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Krystal Mix; her half-sibling, Charles "Chuck" Hook, and father to son, Robert L. Mix.
