Norris
January 23, 1952 – November 27, 2023
Charlotte LaRue Norris, 71 of Effingham, passed away Monday, November 27, 2023.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with burial in Arborcrest Memorial Park at a later date. Charlotte was born January 23, 1952 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Raymond Sr. and and Doris (Stone) Norris. She was an incredible athlete in her youth, excelling in basketball, softball, and bowling. Charlotte was direct and honest to a fault. Charlotte was a hard worker and a single mother who raised two successful children on her own.
She had a sharp sense of humor and an ability to draw people in. Charlotte was selfless to the end — continuously making sure that everyone else was taken care of. She loved her cat, Cheyenne, and her "granddog", LaRue. Charlotte was a wonderful sister and friend; caregiver and mentor, but always a friend.
She is survived by her daughter, Kari (Sam) Wreath of Alton; son, Christopher (Cindy) Williams of Appleton, WI; siblings, Raymond H. Norris Jr., Mary (Daniel) Hoffman, Lawerence Norris, Deborah (Kevin) Grigg, and Connie (Richard) Brockett, all of Effingham; nieces, Michelle Turner, Hillary Norris, Kelly Kane, Gina DePaola, Kimberley Burgess, Jenny Barberio, Heidi Obermeier, and Andrea Norris; nephews, Jeffrey Norris, Raymond Norris III, Brian Hoffman, Jeremy Grigg, Andrew Norris, Clifton Hatcher, and Travis Brockett.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Mike (Glenda) Norris and James H. (Elaine) Norris; sisters, Donna Christine Strickland and Donna Ray (Thomas "Spike") De Paola.
