Charles C. Davis, 73 of Effingham, passed away Monday morning, November 11, 2019 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

A visitation and memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with military rites to follow. Burial will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be given to Veterans Honor Flight.

Charles was born July 6, 1946 in Effingham, the son of Glen and Mary (Ludwig) Davis. He married Sherry J. Yarbrough on October 5, 1968. Charles served in the Vietnam War with the United States Army. He was a heavy machine operator for many years and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham.

Charles is survived by his wife, Sherry of Effingham; children, Michelle Holman of Effingham, Clark of Effingham and Tiffany (Kenny) Heineman of Albuquerque, NM; sisters, Sharon (Terry) Craddock of Biloxi, MS, Ruth (Ken) Kremer of Sun City, FL and Emma Peterson of Divernon; grandchildren, Alexa and Jordyn Holman.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John "Jug", George and Frank; sister, Ethel Wilson and Mildred Sage.
