Cecelia M. Habing, 78 of Teutopolis, passed away at 2:04 a.m. Monday, March 13, 2017 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 16, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the church, with a 6:30 p.m. parish prayer service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Support Systems. Bauer Funeral Home in Teutopolis is assisting the family with arrangements. Cecelia was born September 3, 1938 in Sigel, the daughter of Fred and Theresa (Hofman) Ludwig. She married Dennis J. Habing on September 25, 1965 and he survives. Cecelia was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis and the Council of Catholic Women.
Cecelia is survived by her husband, Dennis of Teutopolis; two sons, Eric (Stephanie) and Brian (Melissa), both of Teutopolis; two daughters, Karen (Todd) Smith of Teutopolis, and JoAnn (Dave) Ellet of Chesterfield, MO; brother, Bob Ludwig of Florissant, MO; sister, Frances (Albert) Bellm of Daytona Beach, FL; sisters-in-law, Lois Ludwig of St. Louis, MO, Joyce Habing of Teutopolis and Sara (Alvin) Hammes of Seneca, KS; twelve grandchildren also survive.
Cecelia was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Donna Jo; two brothers, Melvin and Harold Ludwig; brothers-in-law, Joseph, George and Patrick Habing; sisters-in-law, Betty Ludwig, Lucy Hornbeck, Kathleen Nolan, Joyce Berchtold and Mary Jane McGee.
