Catherine Elizabeth (Goeckner) Schleper, passed away on March 26, 2017 at Tuscola Health Care Center.

Her parents were the late Frank and Agnes (Thoele) Goeckner of Teutopolis. For several years before her recent illness, she resided at The Glenwood in Effingham.

Catherine enjoyed a long banking career at Effingham States Bank, where she worked in customer service.

Catherine married Arthur J. Schleper of Aurora on May 5, 1984. He preceded her in death in 2010.

Survivors include her sister, Dolores Wente of St. Louis, MO; step-son, Kevin Schleper of Davis, IL; step-daughter, Kathy, and her husband, Allen Marquardt and two step-grandsons, John and James Marquardt of the Champaign/Urbana area. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on March 31, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Teutopolis with burial in the parish cemetery. Bauer Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
