Catherine A. (Niebrugge) Flynn, 83 of Effingham, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 25, 2013 at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Green Creek with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to time of services, Monday morning at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. www.bauerfh.com
Catherine was born February 17, 1930 in Green Creek, the daughter of John H. and Mary (Willenborg) Niebrugge. She married John J. Flynn on June 6, 1959 in Chicago, and he preceded her in death in 1989. Catherine was a member of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church and the St. Mary's Council of Catholic Women.
Catherine is survived by her son, John (Alice) of Effingham; daughter, Jean (Rick) Cornell of Teutopolis; sister, Rita Pals of Teutopolis; nine grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; daughter, Mary C. Lovelace; infant grandson; two sisters, Agnes Bezdon and Theresa Brunzie; three brothers, Raymond, John and Vincent.
