Carolyn A Sur, 72 of Green Creek, passed away Saturday evening at her sister's home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 21, 2014 at St. Mary's Help of Christians Catholic Church in Green Creek with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday evening at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church Remodeling Fund or to the donor's choice. www.bauerfh.com

Carolyn was born September 20, 1941 in Effingham, the daughter of Ferdinand and Elsie (Ruholl) Sur. She was employed at Stephens Grocery and later retired after 24 ½ years from Martins IGA in Effingham. Carolyn was a member of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Green Creek and the St. Mary's Council of Catholic Women.

Carolyn is survived by her sister, Barbara Hewing of Green Creek; niece, Stacy (Rob) Baker of Berne, Indiana; nephew, Jason (Miranda) Hewing of Robinson; great-nephew, Cody Baker and two great-nieces, Jade and Cora Baker.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and brother in law, James Hewing.
