Carol A. Ballinger, 72 of Effingham, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2019 at HSHS St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with burial in Drummond Cemetery, Cumberland County, at a later date.

Carol was born May 11, 1947 in Effingham, the daughter of Gaylon Paul and Arlene A. (Beasley) Reynolds. She married Bill J. Ballinger on June 6, 1969. Carol was a hairdresser for 25 years. When she retired, she enjoyed resale shopping and eating breakfast at McDonald's with her husband every morning. She also loved and enjoyed spending time with her grandsons who were her pride and joy. Everyone enjoyed her sense of humor.

Carol is survived by her husband and daughter, Kristina (Colin) Bradford, both of Effingham; grandsons, Cohen and Wyatt Bradford; brother, Gaylon P. Reynolds of Casey, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Linda Stewart.
