Brad C. Buening, 31 of Fredricksburg, Virginia, formerly of Teutopolis, passed away at 5:15 p.m., Monday, October 14, 2013 at his parent's home in Teutopolis.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 18, 2013 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with a parish prayer service at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or to the donor's choice.

Brad was born March 22, 1982 in Effingham, the son of Charles and Diane (Hartke) Buening. He graduated from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology with his bachelor's degree in computer and electrical engineering. Brad then went on to receive his Master's degree in computer engineering at Virginia Tech. He was employed as a computer engineer for the Naval Surface Warfare Center.

Brad is survived by his parents, Charles and Diane Buening of Teutopolis; brother, Darin of Peoria and sister-in-law, Jennifer Buening of Sigel; many aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.

Brad was preceded in death by his brother, Brian.
