Bob Hardwick, 65, of Effingham, passed away at 9:30 p.m. Friday, October 5, 2012 at his daughter's home in Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with a 6:00 p.m. Elks Memorial Service. Bob was born August 28, 1947 in Olney, the son of John A. and Mary A. (Faught) Hardwick. He was a member of the Effingham American Legion Post #120 and was very involved with the Effingham Elks lodge #1016. With the Elks organization, Bob was the past Exalted Ruler, District Deputy and State President. He enjoyed being involved with the Elks Hoop Shoot, Elks National Foundation and the Elks Children's Care Corporation. Bob was also the East Central District Sponsor over nine Elks lodges.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Mary (Ryan) Banning of Effingham; brother, Steve (Susie) of Newton; four grandchildren, Michael Williams, Marcus, Morgan and Mackenzie Banning.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
