Obituary

Bob was born February 11, 1961 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Robert D. and Virginia L. (Barton) Farrar. He married Gina K. Hamilton on June 4, 1983; recently celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary.

Bob was the embodiment of joy. He anchored his life on the truth of the gospel, which overflowed into every aspect of his being.

Throughout his lifetime, he held many titles, though his most coveted roles were "husband" to his treasured wife, "father" to his three children, and "pops" (bob upside down) to his five grandchildren.

Bob never met a stranger, and he extended love without limit. He was strong yet gentle, brilliant yet humble. He was generous, steadfast, kind, driven, hardworking, a peacemaker, quick-witted, sentimental, and energetic–truly larger than life.

He was the purest definition of selfless, keenly attuned to the needs of others and always willing to extend a hand. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, learning and teaching God's Word, cooking breakfast, and much more.

His life verse was Matthew 5:9," Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God."

Bob is survived by his wife, Gina of St. Peter's, Missouri; son, Matt (wife, Megan) Farrar of Effingham, Illinois; daughters, Laura (husband, Aleksei) Kamaloff of St. Louis, Missouri, and Jeanette (husband, Joshua) Bellinger of Rogers, Arkansas; grandchildren, Zariyah, Zailyn, and Audifax Farrar, Kayden and Selah Bellinger; sister, Linda (husband, Gary) Hirrsig of Ballwin, Missouri and many other beloved family members. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He will be profoundly missed by his family and the many others who deeply loved him. As his family clings to the cross, a celebration of Bob's life will be held in the Chapel at Harvester Christian Church (2950 Kings Xing, St. Charles, MO 63303) on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes can be sent to his family at Bauer Funeral Home (1212 W Evergreen Ave, Effingham, IL 62401) and will be used to memorialize his beautiful life.
