Bill J. "Pete" Ballinger, 88, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at his home in Effingham.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date with burial in Drummond Cemetery, rural Neoga.

Bill was born March 31, 1936 in Shelby County, the son of Alonzo "Lon" and Rose M. (Holley) Ballinger. He married Carol A. Reynolds on June 6, 1969 and she preceded him in death on July 18, 2019.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Kristina (Colin) Bradford; grandsons, Cohen and Wyatt; brother-in-law, Wendell Traub; sister-in-law, Peggy Ballinger; special nephews, Robert Lee Ballinger, Jr. and Ron West, as well as several other nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carol; sister and brother-in-law, Wanda (Clifford) West; sister, Judy Traub and Ruby Tabor; brothers, Donald Ballinger and Robert Lee Ballinger Sr..
