Betty J. Jamison, 84, of Effingham, died at 3:34 p.m., Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation in Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 2, 2012 at First Christian Church in Effingham with burial in Oakridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham and for one hour prior to the funeral service, Thursday morning at the church. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church or to the donor's choice.
Betty was born March 29, 1927 in Effingham, the daughter of George and Amy (Niccum) Ashley. She married Lee Jamison on September 25, 1943 and he preceded her in death in 1982. Betty was a member of the First Christian Church in Effingham.
She is survived by three sons, Vernon (Shirley) of Effingham, Joe (Janet) of Effingham, Steven (Kathy) of Mountain Home, AR; one daughter, Betty Lou (Larry) Hall of Montrose; step-daughter, RosaLee Swett of Lapeer, MI; four sisters, Maisie Sheldon of St. Louis, MO, Margie Jamison of South Hill, WA, Juanita Ramsey Keller of Mattoon and Bonita Thomas of Effingham; 30 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Gernon and George; step-daughter, Zula Lee Smith.
