Betty J. Bushur, 86 of Sigel, passed away at 12:38 a.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Heartland Christian Village in Neoga.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Sigel with burial in St. Michael Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. Memorial donations may be made to St. Michael Church.

Betty was born July 4, 1930 in Effingham, the daughter of Lawrence and Eleanor (Apke) Kaufman. She married Paul E. Bushur on October 7, 1950 and he preceded her in death on December 13, 2016. Betty was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church in Sigel.

Betty is survived by her son, Tom (Julie) of Mattoon; three daughters, Krista (Tom) Beverlin of Newton, Pat Bushur of Mattoon and Paula Bushur of Effingham; two brothers, Charles (Lila) Kaufman of St. Charles, MO and Gene (Margy) Kaufman of Auburn; fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren also survive.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Paul.
