Bernard A. Deters' Obituary
Bernard A. " Bernie" Deters, 75 of Sigel, passed away at 2:40 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at H.S.H.S. St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
According to Bernard's wishes, cremation rites were accorded. A memorial mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lillyville, with burial in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
Bernard was born July 24, 1939 in Sigel, the son of Ralph and Emma (Zerrusen) Deters. He was a farmer and served with the United States National Guard for six years. Bernard was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, Lillyville, enjoyed listening to country music and watching the St. Louis Cardinals.
Bernard is survived by three aunts and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Norbert and step-father, James Gaskill.
