Beatrice M. Niemerg, 79, of Effingham, died at 12:21 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2012 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Aloysius Church Cemetery, Bishop Creek. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with a 6:30 p.m. parish prayer service. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
Beatrice was born June 15, 1932 in Bishop Creek, the daughter of Herman and Cecelia (Voss) Niemerg. She was a retired employee of the Illinois Glove Factory and also had worked at the Abe Lincoln Motel. Beatrice was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, American Legion Auxiliary, and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. Beatrice enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, birding, playing cards and putting together puzzles.
She is survived by three sisters, Millie Borries of Tuscola, Evelyn McCreery of Newton and Jeanette (Dick) Esker of Parkersburg, WV; two brothers, Celestine (Verena) of Dieterich and Larry (Peggy) of Baker, MT; 19 nieces and nephews also survive.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Herbert; two brothers-in-law and one nephew.
