Barbara Ann Berggren, 86 of Effingham, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Effingham Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Barbara was born February 3, 1934 in Peoria, the daughter of Narcisco and Lena M. (Gebhart) Ortiz. She loved spending time with her family, laughing & joking. Barbara enjoyed her cats, visiting and working flea markets where she dealt in vintage and costume jewelry, and dining at the local Mexican restaurants where she practiced conversing with the staff in spanish.

Barbara is survived by her sons, Randy (Dawn) Stookey of Effingham, Terry (Cindy) Chasteen of Peoria, Jerry (Lynn) Chasteen of Germantown Hills and Ronnie Stookey of Peoria; grandchildren, Randy, Jenna, Jina, Damon, Jamie, Whitney and Terry; great-grandchildren, Amber, Austin, Kailee Khylee, Ayden, Ellie and Lucas.

She was preceded in death by her parents and great-granddaughter, Emry.
