Arthur L. "Art" Wolfert, 85, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at his home in Mason.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with burial in Oakridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial donations may be given to the Watson Fire Department and will be accepted at the funeral home.
Art was born August 16, 1939 in Effingham, the son of Lawrence and Kathryn (Rieman) Wolfert. He married Shirley Ella Irene Wines on November 28, 1959 and she preceded him in death in 2019. Art loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and watching TV with his loyal dog and best buddy, Millie. Art was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham.
Art is survived by his daughters, Brenda (Bob) Pruemer of Teutopolis and Valerie (Brian) Logsdon of Bethany; sons, Mike (Jill) of Toledo and Brian (Edith) of San Diego, CA; brother, Lawrence (Sharon) Wolfert of Ocala, FL; grandchildren, Amber (Adam) Laquet, Brittney (T.J.) Richey, Mallory Pruemer, Lauren Pruemer, Shelby (Jon) Alward, Molly (Derek) Heidemann, Dillon (Emily) Brown, Jessica Wolfert (Justin Finfrock), Devin (Sidney) Wolfert, Blake Pruemer, Bryce Pruemer, Collin Pruemer, and Hunter Wolfert; great-grandchildren, Kamryn Wolfert, Tyler Finfrock, Cecelia Brown, Rowen Wolfert, Leanna Alward, and Sebastian Richey.
Art was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and two sisters, Bernice Rhodes and Mildred Wendt.
