Antonette M. Feldhake, 97 of Effingham, went to the Lord peacefully at 5:20 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at H.S.H.S. St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham, surrounded by her family.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2015 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham followed by a combined C.C.W. and C.D.A. rosary. Antonette was born March 5, 1918 in Effingham, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Koelsch. She married Clarence J. Feldhake on May 15, 1943 and he preceded her in death on April 10, 1974. Antonette was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham, Council of Catholic Women, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Setor Franciscan and the St. Anthony Hospital Auxiliary. She volunteered at Second Hand Rose and spent many years caring for the sick and elderly.
Antonette enjoyed sitting on her front porch taking in the country scenery and wildlife. Her biggest joy was spending time with her growing family of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, John (Kay) Feldhake, Sister Claret Feldhake SSND, Kathy (Larry) Ferguson, Michael (Darlene) Feldhake and Anna Mae (Richard) Willenborg; son-in-law, Dan Koebel; sister, Teresa Worman; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Antonette was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence; daughter, Gertrude "Trudi" Koebel; four brothers and three sisters.
