Anna Marie Wernsing, 96, of Effingham, passed away at 11:30 p.m., Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Lakeland Health Care Center in Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 29, 2012 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. Anna Marie was born August 31, 1916 in Effingham, the daughter of August and Clara (Metten) Kenter. She married Robert H. Wernsing on July 9, 1940 and he preceded her in death in 1978.

She is survived by a son, James (Jane) Wernsing of Effingham and a sister, Gertrude Woermann also of Effingham. Anna Marie is also survived by two grandchildren, Michael (Cristy Cornelius) Wernsing of Spring Green, WI and Teresa (Ken) Haywood of Effingham along with 6 great grandchildren.

Anna Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Robert Kenter, a sister-in-law, Annie Kenter and a brother-in-law, Henry Woermann.
