Anna E. Ruholl passed away on her 93rd birthday, March 19, 2019 at her home in rural Teutopolis, surrounded by her family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m.Friday, March 22, 2019 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. There will be a 3:45 p.m. rosary with visitation following until 7:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the church. Memorials may be given to the donor's choice.
Anna was born March 19, 1926 in Effingham County, the daughter of Clem Sr. and Josephine (Feldhake) Vogt. She married Lawrence H. Ruholl on September 6, 1952 and he preceded her in death in 2016. Anna was a member of St. Francis Church in Teutopolis, Catholic Daughters of America, St. Francis Council of Catholic Women and a member of the Adoration Chapel at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital.
Anna was employed over the years at Illinois Glove Factory, St. Anthony Memorial Hospital and Niemerg's Steakhouse. She enjoyed traveling and going on countless shopping trips. Anna enjoyed quilting, crocheting and working in her flower garden with roses. She loved to play card games, especially pinochle and rummy.
Anna is survived by her seven sons, Mike (Vonnie) of Teutopolis, Don of Effingham, Vernon (Wanda) of Teutopolis, Linus (Deb) of Dieterich, Steve (Donna) of Waverly, Charlie of Dieterich, and Wayne (Amy) of Dieterich; four daughters, Carolyn (Bill) Jones of Naperville, Louise (Dave) Repking of Teutopolis, Mary (John) Flach of Teutopolis, and Marita Ruholl of Effingham; brothers, Clem Vogt, Jr., Bernard Vogt, Paul (Marcella) Vogt, and sister, Stella Westendorf, all of Effingham. She is also survived by thirty-four grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren, whom she deeply loved.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Sr. Mary Ann Vogt and Catherine Westendorf; brother, Clarence Vogt and one grandchild.
