Anna M. Niemeyer, 99, passed away at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at her home in rural Teutopolis.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 4, 2015 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. A ladies rosary will begin at 5:00 p.m. Friday evening at the church with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m.. Prior to the conclusion of visitation, a 7:45 p.m. parish wake service will be held. Memorials may be made to HSHS St. Anthony Memorial Hospice or the "Meals on Wheels" program.
Anna was born May 9, 1916 in Sigel, the daughter of John and Mary (Ludwig) Bueker. She married Bernard J. Niemeyer on September 3, 1938 and he preceded her in death in 2001. Anna was a member and past president of St. Francis Council of Catholic Women and also a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis.
Anna is survived by her son, Allen (JoAnn) and two daughters, Carol (Don) Heuerman and Vera (Dave) Koester, all of Teutopolis; sister-in-law, Mary Agnes Niemeyer; eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Jack Bueker and five sisters, Sophia Nuxoll, Christine Koelsch, Gertrude Wendt, Marie Fallert and Josephine Nuxoll.
