Anna Marie (Stuckey) Green, 81, passed away at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, April 27, 2014 at her home in Effingham, surrounded by her family.
Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. A combined C.C.W. and C.D. of A. rosary will begin at 4:00 p.m.; Anna Marie's family will then receive friends until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony Parish or Schools. www.bauerfh.com
Anna Marie was born May 11, 1932 in Effingham, the daughter of Albert and Francis (Goldstein) Stuckey. She married Joseph F. Green on August 4, 1950 and he preceded her in death on June 5, 2000. Anna Marie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, often traveling many miles to watch a grandchild's sports game. She loved to bake and try out new recipes for her family.
She had previously worked as a telephone operator with Illinois Consolidated Telephone and at Kingery Printing Company. She was a lifetime member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Altar Sodality, and the Adult Choir. She also volunteered for the St. Anthony Hospital Auxiliary. Finally, she spent many years as a Girl Scout Leader.
Anna Marie is survived by her children, Michael (Jane) Green of Troy, Robert (Toni) Green of Springfield, Steve (Jean) Green of Quincy, Teri Calhoon of Teutopolis, Mary Jo Green of Effingham, Joan (Daniel) Peterson of Frankfort; brother, Tom (Patricia) Stuckey of Springfield; brother-in-law, Pat (Kathleen) Green; sisters-in-law, Marge (Bob) Denton of Effingham, Bette Holmes of Champaign, Viola Green of Clinton; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 7 step-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Ronald James; sisters, Lucille Davis and Florence Austin; brothers, Arthur Norbert and James Albert Stuckey; brothers-in-law, Charles and Richard Green, Noble A. (Jim) Davis, Abraham Austin; sisters-in-law, Virginia and Ruth.
