Alma M. Hoelscher's Obituary
Alma M. Hoelscher, 77 of Effingham, passed away at 5:30 a.m., Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with burial in St. Francis Cemetery in Teutopolis. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to time of service, Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
Alma was born May 29, 1937 in Bridgeport, WV, the daughter of David and Ruby (Sandy) Allen. She married John H. Hoelscher on December 14, 1961 and he preceded her in death in 1982. Alma was a seamstress and was previously a home health care provider for Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Effingham.
Alma is survived by her two sons, Mark A. and Carl L. (Julie), both of Effingham; three sisters, Alta M. Criss (friend, Cleve) of Volga, WV, Barbara Graham of Stonewood, WV and Lynn (Michael) Baker of Culpepper, VA; two grandchildren, John Henry of Effingham and Theresa Jean (Jayson) Graves of Effingham; great-grandson, Nathaniel.
Alma is preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother-in-law.
