Alma N. Campton, 78, of Effingham, died at 9:15 p.m., Sunday, December 18, 2011 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery, rural Dieterich. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Alma was born August 11, 1933, the daughter of Orville and Lucy (Gilmore) Campton. She enjoyed camping, quilting and flowers, but most of all, her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Theresa (Raymond) Shaw of Beecher City; two grandchildren, Meranda and Ryan Shaw of Beecher City; nephews, Leroy (Carolyn) Campton of Effingham, Darren (Cassie) Campton and Kenny (Janice) Campton, both of Dieterich; nieces, Betty Woods of Edgewood and Durita Bagley of Wisconsin; many other nieces and nephews also survive.

Alma was preceded in death by her parents, nine sisters and two brothers.
