Allan L. "Archie" Buenker, 53 of Effingham, passed away Tuesday morning, August 6, 2013.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home in Effingham. Memorials may be to the donor's choice.

Archie was born December 25, 1959 in Effingham, the son of Donald and Mardell (Will) Buenker. He married Frances K. Helmbacher on February 25, 2000. Archie was a member of Teutopolis Knights of Columbus council #2874 and had worked for Howell Construction for over 34 years.

Archie is survived by his wife, Frances of Effingham; parents, Donald and Mardell Buenker; two step-daughters, Kelsea (Bryan) Beckman and Sam Kania, both of Effingham; two brothers, Dwayne Buenker of Effingham and Kevin (Michelle) Buenker of Teutopolis; three sisters, Wanda Redmond of St. Genevieve, MO, Sandra (Karl) Jansen of Effingham and Deanna (Kyle) Budde of Effingham; thirteen nephews and nieces, Ayden and Kaleb Buenker, Payton, Kaitlyn and Cameron Budde, Jody, Jessica, Julie, Greg and Janice Jansen, Carl, Jason and Donald Redmond.
